The Doctor of Philosophy degree is conferred upon individuals who have conducted rigorous critical analysis and assessment of an authorized subject, thereby producing an autonomous and innovative addition to scholarly knowledge. The dissertation must incorporate a substantial research, creative, or analytical element that merits publication in whole or in part. Candidates must also exhibit proficiency in research methodologies pertinent to their selected discipline. Typically, the thesis length ranges from 40,000 to 80,000 words, varying by academic field and research focus.
