The Doctor of Philosophy degree is conferred upon individuals who have conducted rigorous critical analysis and assessment of an authorized subject, thereby producing an autonomous and innovative addition to scholarly knowledge. The dissertation must feature a substantial research, creative, or analytical element that meets publication standards, either in whole or in part. Candidates are additionally required to exhibit proficiency in research methodologies pertinent to their chosen discipline. Typically, the thesis length ranges from 40,000 to 80,000 words, varying by academic field and research focus.
