A studio-focused fine arts program designed to foster independent exploration and taught by active artists. This studio-based curriculum allows students to investigate diverse artistic fields including painting, sculpture, performance art, installations, printmaking, and both traditional and digital media. The Fine Art program features a unique integration of theoretical knowledge and hands-on technical instruction. This academic year enables students to seek, apply for, and obtain professional experience, typically involving one to three placements spanning at least nine months. Completing this module successfully will showcase your capability to obtain and maintain employment at a graduate level.
The program focuses on cultivating studio work across various mediums such as painting, drawing, sculpture, film, photography, performance, and sound. Its flexible framework accommodates uncertainty, creative experimentation, discovery, bold attempts, and innovative approaches. This curriculum encourages inquisitiveness, daring creativity, and originality. It seeks to enhance your analytical abilities, capacity for self-evaluation, reflective thinking, and communication skills - both verbal and visual - alongside developing essential practical competencies.
Our alumni pursue diverse careers including professional independent artists, curators in established galleries, or founders of artist-led spaces. Some graduates enter teaching or gallery education roles, while others work in art conservation, television production, or Art Therapy.
