Cultivate your personal artistic approach, investigate and test innovative techniques and mediums, while connecting with modern artistic practices and theories through our BA (Hons) Fine Art program at Cambridge School of Art. ARU's Fine Art studies encourage you to push creative boundaries, examine diverse materials and methods, and identify the most effective mediums for expressing your concepts. From day one at Cambridge School of Art, you'll have direct access to your own studio space. Our creative hubs surround the Ruskin Gallery, a versatile exhibition space blending digital and traditional formats, where you'll collaborate with fellow fine artists across different year groups and other creative disciplines. A key advantage is receiving dedicated time and mentorship from our team of professional artists, all committed to nurturing your artistic growth. We'll encourage you to explore various materials, mediums, and technical approaches as you gain confidence and compile an impressive body of work.
Learning extends beyond the studio through visits to local exhibitions, London galleries, and international trips to contemporary art hubs including Berlin, Madrid, Amsterdam, and the Venice Biennale.
The program offers numerous chances to collaborate and showcase your creations, providing valuable experience in curation, event coordination, and artistic promotion. With career development in mind, we offer continuous assistance securing internships and practical experience. Recent students collaborated on a real-world project with Cambridge's Grafton Centre, transforming available retail space into a curated artist exhibition. The course structure also includes the option to undertake a placement year for additional professional experience.
