The Bangor School of Law invites applications from qualified graduates for its PhD, MPhil, and LLM Res research degree programs.
PhD candidates must produce a thesis demonstrating substantial original contributions to their field and defend it in an oral examination. MPhil students complete a supervised research program culminating in a thesis. Each research student is assigned a supervisor specializing in their chosen topic, who offers guidance on topic selection, relevant literature, research methodologies, thesis structure, content presentation, and feedback on drafts. PhD supervisors also assist with viva voce exam preparation.
The PhD program typically takes 3 years full-time or 4-5 years part-time, while the MPhil degree generally requires 2 years full-time or 3 years part-time.
