This four-year program is tailored for students seeking comprehensive expertise in the subject. The initial three years mirror the Marine Biology and Zoology BSc curriculum. After successfully completing Year two with satisfactory grades, students advance to Year three of the BSc program before transitioning to a specialized fourth year. The final year features an extensive research project culminating in a dissertation. Students will join faculty research teams, gaining hands-on experience in professional research settings.
The Marine Biology component explores marine organisms including animals, plants, algae, and microbes, along with their ecological relationships. The Zoology component examines all animal life across terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems. This degree provides a broad perspective on global biodiversity, from mountain peaks to ocean depths. Students will discover how animal-environment interactions apply universally across marine, land, and freshwater ecosystems. The curriculum covers core biological principles, ecology, and evolutionary processes for marine species and all animal groups, plus applied topics like fisheries, aquaculture, parasitology, and immunology.
Optional Placement Year and International Experience Year Available
