Biomedical Science forms the foundation for studying human health and illness through scientific methods. This program provides insights into disease biology, incorporating contemporary biomedical science principles and their uses in researching, diagnosing, and managing medical conditions. There's increasing demand for graduates skilled in cutting-edge diagnostic and molecular methods that are transforming healthcare in the NHS, military sectors, industry, academia, and research. Developed in partnership with regional NHS clinical labs, this program holds accreditation from the Institute of Biomedical Science. Hospital professionals from North Wales contribute to teaching, with many instructors having practical healthcare experience. Biomedical Science combines diverse disciplines to scientifically examine human health and disease. The curriculum offers comprehensive knowledge of disease biology, featuring current biomedical science approaches for investigating, identifying, and treating medical conditions. You'll receive guidance to integrate fundamental biological science concepts while building expertise in specialized biomedical fields like clinical biochemistry, cellular pathology, blood disorders, and infectious diseases. GCSE: Grade C/4 in English Language, Maths and Science, if not demonstrated by the Level 3 qualification. Offers are tariff based, 104 - 128 tariff points from a Level 3 qualification* e.g.: A Levels: To include Biology and at least one other science from Chemistry (preferred), Medical Science, Physics or Maths. Key Skills and General Studies not accepted BTEC National Extended Diploma: DMM - DDM (Biology and Chemistry modules required) Cambridge Technical Extended Diploma: DMM - DDM (Biology and Chemistry modules required) International Baccalaureate Diploma: Including grade H5 in Biology and Chemistry (preferred) at Higher Level. Access: Pass required in Science or Bioscience diplomas as they provide the necessary pre-requisite knowledge Welsh Baccalaureate T-Levels: Considered on a case by case basis Extended Project Qualification (Points can include a relevant Extended Project (EPQ) but must include a minimum 2 full A-levels, or equivalent) WJEC Medical Science Applied Diploma and Applied Certificate International Candidates: school leaving qualifications and college diplomas are accepted from countries worldwide. English Language requirements – Students need to have IELTS score of  IELTS - 6.0 (5.5), TOEFL iBT - 75 overall , (L-17, R-18, S-20, W-18)
