Biomedical scientists conduct laboratory analyses on samples provided by general practitioners and healthcare providers.
The field of Biomedical Science plays a crucial role in disease diagnosis, patient care, and supports the functioning of the NHS and related health sectors.
Our program is the sole HCPC-approved, IBMS-accredited Biomedical Science course in Glasgow that includes a practical placement. Additionally, the Royal Society of Biology recognizes this Biomedical Science program.
Students will acquire essential expertise in areas like cellular pathology, clinical biochemistry, haematology, and clinical microbiology to prepare for careers as biomedical scientists. A distinctive feature of this course is the opportunity for selected students to complete a hospital-based placement in Scotland.
