Bangor's Modern Languages BA offers a distinctive chance to master up to three languages within a welcoming, dynamic setting nestled in one of the UK's most picturesque regions. Students can pursue French, Spanish, German, or Chinese at degree level, alongside optional Galician modules. Our programs accommodate both advanced learners with A Level experience and beginners starting from scratch. This flexible degree allows you to focus on French, Spanish, or German individually, combine them in joint-degree options, or participate in our three-language program. The joint-degree and three-language options enable combinations including Chinese alongside European languages. You may concentrate on a single language or expand your expertise by studying multiple languages, continuing previous studies while potentially adding new linguistic skills. Our curriculum develops superior language proficiency and cultural understanding, taught by distinguished researchers who are authorities in language, culture, and history. A program highlight is the mandatory third-year abroad, where students enhance language skills through university study, English teaching assistantships, or professional placements. This international experience prepares students for their final year and future careers. Language graduates acquire employer-coveted skills including advanced communication, analytical thinking, presentation abilities, cultural sensitivity, and exceptional time management.
