The study of international relations forms an essential component of being a citizen in today's interconnected world, and our BA International Relations with Modern Languages stands as one of our most significant academic offerings. This engaging field examines topics like globalization and international organizations, development and human rights, regional and global politics, conflict resolution, political economics, and security strategies, helping you understand how governance, policies, and legal frameworks shape everyday experiences. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to learn French, Spanish, or German at either an advanced (post-A level) or beginner level, alongside practical translation and career-focused language modules. The program spans three years, with the option to extend your studies through a Year Abroad or Year in Industry, providing invaluable cultural immersion and professional development opportunities to enrich your educational journey.
Our standard entry requirement is BBB (UCAS tariff points 120) or equivalent. All offers are made following a review of the application form, predicted/achieved grades and subjects, the reference and personal statement. We also accept a range of advanced level qualifications including: International Baccalaureate 32; Advanced Skills Baccalaureate Wales - grade equivalent to A-level; Access to Higher Education and Open University qualifications, and Extended Project. A GCSE at minimum grade C (4) in a modern foreign language is preferable but not essential. English Language requirement - For applicants whose first language is not English, we require IELTS 6.0 overall (with a minimum of 5.5 in each component) or equivalent English test. TOEFL  score of 79.
