About This Course
This English Language and English Literature program allows you to explore two key facets of the world's most extensively documented language. You'll investigate English's structure, usage patterns, and historical development. The language component covers grammatical frameworks, semantic interpretation, phonetics, sociolinguistic variations, and historical evolution - including dialect formation and English's global role as a lingua franca.
The literature studies expose you to diverse English literary works across historical periods, from Anglo-Saxon texts to contemporary pieces. You'll cultivate analytical skills to examine texts through multiple lenses - whether sociopolitical, linguistic, or stylistic perspectives.
