The BA (Hons) Textiles Design program is ideal for those passionate about color, patterns, textures, fabrics, materials, surface design, craftsmanship, decorative illustration, ornamentation, construction techniques, material manipulation, and hands-on creative work. Textiles represent a massive worldwide industry that touches every aspect of our lives - from floor coverings and wall treatments to furniture upholstery, apparel, fashion accessories, gift packaging, stationery, and even automotive interiors. It stands as one of the most widely utilized design disciplines globally.Throughout this program, you'll develop both practical abilities and professional competencies that prepare you for collaborative work environments or launching your own textile enterprise. You'll explore the expansive field of textiles, mastering diverse techniques ranging from printing and embroidery to dyeing and mixed-media fabrication (including fundamental knitting and weaving). The curriculum allows specialization in multiple areas such as fashion textiles, interior textiles, and textiles as artistic/craft mediums.Classic techniques are taught alongside modern design processes, manufacturing knowledge, and innovative contemporary approaches. Whether you pursue opportunities with retail chains or global design firms, we'll equip you to meet the demands of the dynamic textile industry.We've established an AUB textile agency to showcase student creations at Premier Vision Paris and London Print Textile Trade Fairs, with students gaining industry exposure through internships and real-world projects - experiencing the complete textile lifecycle from production to commercial application.Optional Placement YearAll AUB undergraduate programs include an optional placement year between the second and final study years.If you're uncertain about this opportunity, no immediate decision is required. All applicants must have Level 3 qualifications, which will normally include at least one creative subject. We're looking for between 112 and 120 UCAS Tariff points. You can use the UCAS Tariff Calculator to work out how many points you have. The standard offers for degree courses include : GCE A-Levels – BBB at A-Level excluding General Studies, or 120 UCAS Tariff points, Foundation Diploma in Art and Design at Pass, BTEC Level 3 Diploma at Distinction, T-level grade of Merit or above, BTEC/OCR Extended Diploma at Distinction, Merit, Merit, RSL/UAL Diploma – must be combined with other Level 3 qualifications equivalent to 112-120 UCAS Tariff points, RSL/ UAL Extended Diploma at Merit. A combination of BTEC Subsidiary Diploma and A-Levels – equivalent to 120 UCAS Tariff points, Three BTEC Subsidiary Diploma passes at Grade Merit, Scottish Highers – five passes at Grade C or above. AUB welcomes applications from students who have completed, or who are soon to complete, a T level in a relevant subject to their chosen course of study. Applicants will be required to achieve an overall grade of Merit or above. Applicants with VTCT qualifications who've the ability to achieve the minimum stated entry requirements of between 112-120 UCAS points will be considered. Academic IELTS or UKVI IELTS 6.0 overall with at least 5.5 in each band. We'll accept IELTS Online (Academic) scores. TOEFL iBT with 80 overall with a minimum score of 18 in writing, listening, and reading and 19 in speaking. Please note the home version of this test is not accepted.
