Through our Creative Writing Masters program, you'll refine your skills by creating and exchanging work within an intimate circle of peers and published faculty mentors.

Explore the methods employed by renowned writers from the last two centuries to distinguish their work. You'll have chances to hone your skills in elements like character development, narrative structure, and pacing while experimenting with various writing styles.

Apply your newfound knowledge to produce writing samples for review by both instructors and classmates. This process will provide diverse feedback on your work while teaching you to thoughtfully assess others' writing.

As a graduate student in ARU's Creative Writing program, you'll enjoy access to exclusive events including author talks, masterclasses, and networking sessions with literary agents, publishers, and established writers. A good honours degree (or equivalent), normally in a related subject. Applicants with professional experience are also encouraged to apply.
If English is not your first language you will be expected to demonstrate a certificated level of proficiency of at least IELTS 7.0 ( Academic level), or equivalent English Language qualification, as recognised by Anglia Ruskin University.
