Get ready for a technical art career in visual effects and gaming. Build expertise for positions like technical artist, procedural content developer, and technical director. Our BA (Hons) Visual Effects program trains you in cutting-edge procedural 3D methods, preparing you to collaborate with programmers, developers, and fellow artists.
Through industry-standard procedural content tools, you'll master designing and implementing solutions for challenges in gaming and visual effects.
Beyond core VFX and computer graphics training, our curriculum keeps you current with emerging methods and industry shifts. We'll guide you in developing the complementary abilities and understanding required to thrive in creative fields. As a Visual Effects student at ARU, you'll study in Chelmsford, Essex—home to 25 game studios like Midas Interactive, Ghostlight, and Elephant Games—while the broader East of England region hosts nearly 200 active gaming companies.
