Become a versatile triple-threat performer mastering singing, acting, and dancing through our BA (Hons) Musical Theatre program in Cambridge. At ARU, you'll learn from industry experts, participate in productions from your first year, and gain practical experience in the field.
Our BA (Hons) Musical Theatre program focuses on specialized training in actor-musicianship, physical theatre, dance, and choreography. You'll be taught by experienced musical directors, artistic directors, and choreographers while training in professional venues like our Mumford Theatre.
Cambridge's vibrant arts community and performance venues make it an ideal location for Musical Theatre studies. You'll have the option to study abroad for a semester with financial support available. During your first year, you'll develop core skills in ensemble singing, acting techniques, and ballet/jazz dance, leading to your debut production at Covent Garden Theatre.
In Year 2, you'll refine advanced technical skills while preparing for a week-long book musical performance at the Mumford Theatre, alongside in-class performance evaluations.
You'll collaborate with professionals on three major productions and a first-year showcase, building toward an impressive final-year performance. The program also covers audition techniques, showreel creation, and feedback from agents, plus opportunities to join our musical theatre choir and professional singing competitions. Throughout your training, you'll develop confidence, resilience, and teamwork abilities.
