You'll develop skills to critically assess traditional performance methods, songwriting approaches, and compositional techniques before forging your unique artistic path to craft original performances or reinterpret existing works.

Throughout the program, you'll engage with progressively sophisticated performance situations, applying these insights to enhance your live performances. In your second year, regular performance workshops will refine your stage presence across various musical styles, while analytical sessions will deepen your understanding of genre-specific vocal and instrumental methods.

As an ARU Music Performance student, you'll build an extensive creative portfolio while mastering contemporary skills essential for today's collaborative arts sector. Whether your aspirations involve performing original material, composing for visual media, or ensemble playing, this Cambridge-based program helps you evolve as an adaptable artist in your chosen genre while encouraging exploration of new musical forms. Discover what sets our program apart through our introductory video.

Several modules are shared with our other music programs, fostering valuable collaborations with peers and cultivating professional competencies like teamwork and organizational skills. You'll also have chances to partner with film and game design students, producing audio for their creative projects.

During your second year, you'll expand your industry knowledge through a tailored work placement in your area of interest. This practical experience will help you assess and strengthen your transferable skills and career readiness.
