Get ready for a career as a professional music producer with our Music Production degree in Cambridge, where you'll master cutting-edge techniques and gain hands-on experience with various production equipment. At ARU, you'll build a versatile portfolio that prepares you for today's collaborative creative fields, whether your goal is DJing, producing original music, or composing for films and games. Our BA (Hons) Music Production program provides access to professional-grade recording, mixing, and production tools, helping you develop both technical expertise and critical listening skills while deepening your understanding of music production history.
Several modules are shared with our other music programs, offering opportunities to collaborate with peers and hone essential professional abilities like teamwork and time management. You'll also work alongside film and game design students, crafting soundtracks for their projects. During Year 2, you'll expand your industry knowledge by completing a placement in your area of interest, while also refining your self-assessment and career-ready skills.
Customize your education with optional modules tailored to your career path. Choose Audio for Film or Audio for Games to specialize in production recording, sound design, or unique skills like ADR and interactive audio production. You can even take a placement year between Years 2 and 3 to gain a competitive edge in the creative industry.

96 UCAS Tariff points from minimum of 2 A Levels (or equivalent), preferably to include Music, Music Technology or a related subject.
3 GCSEs at grade C, or grade 4, or above.
If English is not your first language you will be expected to demonstrate a certificated level of proficiency of at least IELTS 6.0 (Academic level) or equivalent English Language qualification, as recognised by Anglia Ruskin University.
You may also be accepted to this course with an IELTS 5.5 (Academic level- with no individual score being lower than 5.5) or equivalent English Language qualification as recognised by Anglia Ruskin University, but will then be required to undertake additional compulsory free English language modules in your first year.
UCAS Tariff points acquired from BTEC Level 3 Diplomas in a related subject are accepted.
UCAS Tariff points from Access to HE Diplomas are accepted.
International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum of 24 points is accepted, related subjects are preferred.
