Delve into film theory and cinematic history while honing your creative abilities in film production, scriptwriting, and various hands-on modules through our full-time BA (Hons) Film program in Cambridge. Enroll in a course that achieved 94% satisfaction for Academic Support in the 2023 National Student Survey and equip yourself for diverse roles in the film sector, including screenwriting, directing, journalism, curation, festival coordination, and audience outreach.

As an ARU student, you'll explore the evolution of international cinema, examining everything from experimental films to mainstream Hollywood productions. Alongside analyzing cinematic theories and how movies mirror and influence culture, you'll create short films and examine film language from a creator's viewpoint. This practical component involves crafting scripts and producing avant-garde, fictional, and documentary films using both digital formats and traditional 8mm/16mm film.

You'll have chances to showcase your work at Cambridge Arts Picturehouse and collaborate with industry partners. Our connections with regional and national organizations will help you build professional networks and secure industry internships. The program also offers the flexibility to include a placement year as part of your studies.
