The Joint Honours in Film Studies offers comprehensive training in cinematic history and core theoretical frameworks, while allowing you to explore specialized interests alongside German language and cultural studies. Film Studies Through structured courses and curated screenings, you'll engage with both classic and modern cinema from diverse global traditions. The program examines mainstream and alternative films to deepen your knowledge of cinematic evolution and contemporary industry discourse. As you refine analytical techniques, you'll explore cinema's relationship with social, cultural, and political themes, situating films within their historical contexts while considering emerging trends and future directions. This academic path focuses on critical film scholarship rather than hands-on production. German Our German language program (available for both advanced and beginner students) integrates linguistic studies with cultural and historical modules that utilize authentic German materials. Specialization options encompass linguistic evolution, literary analysis, media studies, gender theory, modern history, minority cultures, and Holocaust research.
