As a BA (Hons) Criminology and Policing student at ARU, we'll support your career aspirations right from the start.

Thanks to our connections with regional police departments and professionals, you'll gain access to criminal justice experts through guest lectures (including those arranged by our Policing Institute for the Eastern Region), workshops, field visits, and research initiatives.

There may be chances to collaborate directly with nearby police departments. For instance, a student-led initiative backed by Cambridge Constabulary recently investigated police officer demographics and hiring practices.

Your education will be guided by experienced professionals: certain modules feature instruction from active and former law enforcement specialists, including Crime Scene Investigators. Our criminology faculty includes researchers who've assisted with actual police investigations. An optional placement year is also available.

We'll encourage your participation in justice initiatives, charitable organizations, and community service to build practical experience within the legal system. You'll also enhance your resume by developing strong analytical, research, and communication abilities.
