The postgraduate environment in Sociology focuses on students pursuing an MA by Research, MPhil, or PhD. Policy sociology - covering health systems, educational frameworks, youth development, environmental issues, policy formation, community engagement, and professional methodologies.

Criminal justice - impacting law enforcement strategies and judicial system operations.

Creative industries - focusing on digital design methodologies, media education specialists, and arts professionals.

We maintain collaborative relationships with criminal justice experts via the Scottish Institute for Policing Research (SIPR), computing specialists through the Scottish Informatics and Computer Science Alliance (SICSA), and media educators via the Association for Media Education in Scotland (AMES).
