Abertay's computing research gains strength from its SICSA (Scottish Informatics and Computer Science Alliance) membership, partnerships with tech firms like Microsoft and NCR, law enforcement agencies, and public organizations, along with cutting-edge research facilities including our Emergent Technology Centre. Graduate students enjoy access to R&D possibilities and networking with computing industry experts.
Our postgraduate research spans diverse applications including security systems and digital forensics, technology user experience studies covering immersive environments, human-computer interfaces, accessibility solutions, and practical security implementations. Abertay's interdisciplinary approach merges Computing research with other disciplines, particularly through collaborations in Cybersecurity, Gaming, Psychology, and Food Science.
As the primary collaborator in a Cybersecurity R&D hub under the Tay Cities Deal, Abertay provides specialized applied research capabilities and facilitates public-sector assistance for regional enterprises and government entities.
