Marketing is crucial for all organizations, including small businesses and non-profits. The Bachelor of Business with a Marketing major (formerly called Bachelor of Commerce: Marketing) gives students a solid foundation in specialized marketing skills and knowledge required to effectively plan, develop, and implement marketing strategies.
Digital technology is becoming more integrated into marketing, leading to a growing need for digital marketers. Therefore, the marketing major also teaches students to build various relevant skills, including marketing analytics, insight mining, brand management, content marketing, social media management, digital advertising, search engine optimization, customer research, project management, and more. The program offers intensive, hands-on marketing training with a focus on new and emerging media and marketing analytical tools.
Curriculum courses are designed with industry input and emphasize training on real-world challenges and scenarios to ensure graduates are job-ready and able to make immediate contributions in the workplace. Students will acquire both theoretical and practical experience in media channel selection, digital storytelling, marketing communications, market research, and digital analytics, enabling them to make informed decisions and create communication plans for clients in a classroom environment. Specifically, the program aims to develop a range of relevant skills such as marketing analytics, e-commerce, insight mining, brand management, content marketing, social media planning and analytics, digital marketing and advertising, customer engagement, search engine optimization, and customer research. The use of technology and data-driven tools is intended to produce graduates who excel in collaboration, industry focus, and solving business problems.
