Graduates of the Master of Science (Human Performance Science) may pursue careers as university instructors, sports researchers and consultants, or personal and team performance coaches. Qualification Requirements

Applicants are required to have gained:

  • A Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science with a minimum B grade (65%) in the third year; or
  • A corresponding NZ Bachelor degree with a minimum B grade (65%) in the third year; or
  • A Postgraduate Diploma in Sport and Exercise Science with a minimum B grade average; or
  • A corresponding NZ Postgraduate Diploma with a minimum B grade average; or
  • Equivalent.

English Language Requirements

Candidates who have English as a second language are required to have an International English Language Test System (IELTS) score of 6.5, with no individual band score lower than 6.0; or

  • TOEFL Internet-based test (iBT) score of 79 (with a writing score of 21)
  • TOEFL Paper-based Test (pBT) score of 590 (with an essay score of 5.5 TWE)
  • Pearson Test of English (Academic) score of 58 with no band score lower than 50
