Civil engineering technologists utilize principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering fundamentals to develop infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, ports, and water treatment systems. They create designs and supervise the implementation of solutions for diverse engineering challenges, while exploring innovative approaches to recommend optimal methods and suitable materials. This program caters to individuals pursuing careers in civil engineering. Through a combination of theoretical knowledge and hands-on training in our engineering laboratories, students gain practical expertise. The curriculum offers two specialization tracks: water and waste management engineering or roadway and transportation engineering. Working students have the flexibility to align their project work with their professional environment. The Bachelor of Engineering Technology program holds accreditation from the Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand (IPENZ). Upon completion, graduates can pursue roles as civil engineering technologists.
