The Master of Teaching and Learning (Primary) is an intensive 10-month, full-time program featuring 22 weeks of hands-on classroom experience. This immersive opportunity will enhance your teaching abilities while demonstrating how educational theory connects with real-world practice during your professional growth.
You'll be assigned to a Wellington-region school, dedicating two weekly days working directly with a mentor teacher in an actual classroom setting. Additionally, two days per week will involve scheduled campus classes where you'll analyze, evaluate, and expand your pedagogical knowledge.
Beyond your primary Kaianga Akopai (host school), you'll complete a four-week placement at another educational institution during the first semester. The program culminates with an eight-week, full-time teaching block at your host school in the latter half, designed to broaden and strengthen your instructional expertise.
