Elevate your musical expertise and concentrate on advanced research through the MMus program. This intensive one-year Master's degree allows you to specialize in composition (including sonic arts), performance, musicology, ethnomusicology, music theory, or music education while preparing you for potential PhD studies. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor of Music (Honours) with First or Second Class honors seeking to advance their academic journey. Specific entry criteria apply to each specialization - performance applicants must audition, while composition candidates should present a portfolio. During the application process, all students must provide a research statement outlining their objectives. Additionally, approved research proposals must be submitted to the NZSM Postgraduate Committee within the first month of enrollment.
