Delve deeper into your musical passions and examine music from cultural, historical, technical, creative, and performance viewpoints. The New Zealand School of Music (NZSM) provides a wide selection of courses and research opportunities. You could specialize in the artistic aspects of music through composition, sonic arts, music technology, or classical/jazz performance, or approach music from a more analytical or scholarly angle. NZSM presents an extensive array of subjects available within various postgraduate music programs. Typically, enrollment requires a BMus or BMus(Hons) qualification. The program involves completing 120 points within one year, or up to four years for part-time study. At the Honours level, your studies become more independent. You'll have the chance to undertake a 30-point research project, which involves planning, executing, and documenting your research under guidance. As an Honours student, you'll benefit from smaller class sizes and stronger connections with faculty members.
