The Postgraduate Diploma in Sport Development and Management (PGDipSpDM) is a 120-credit coursework program where students can choose to complete after one year or continue toward the Master of Sport Development and Management (MSpDM). The PGDipSpDM includes four 20-credit courses (each SPEX course usually containing two 10-credit modules) along with a 40-credit independent project. With guidance from their advisor, students can tailor their studies by choosing courses aligned with their interests. The program typically takes one academic year of full-time study. Key objectives include fostering in students:
Awareness of contemporary and emerging trends in global and domestic sports communities. Dedication to gathering, critically assessing, and implementing knowledge and policies related to sports development and management. Proficiency in clearly conveying information, arguments, and analyses through written, visual, and oral presentations. In-depth understanding of ethical principles in sports development and the ability to apply them professionally. Insight into sports growth at local, national, and international levels through two key approaches: developing sports for their intrinsic value as a public good, and utilizing sports strategically to meet social, educational, health, economic, and political goals.
