The Postgraduate Certificate in Applied Science (PGCertAppSc) offers students a pathway to start their postgraduate education with a 60-credit qualification, which can later be expanded into a Postgraduate Diploma or Master's degree. This flexible option enables learners to balance work commitments while advancing their academic credentials. The PGCertAppSc is available across various disciplines listed below. Each program requires completing approved 400- and 500-level courses totaling 60 credits, typically spanning multiple subjects. With permission from the relevant Head of Department or Course Director, students may incorporate up to 20 credits from unspecified 400- and 500-level courses beyond those outlined in the Master of Applied Science (MAppSc) requirements.

Admission to the programme shall be subject to the approval of the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Science).
Every applicant must either
be a graduate, or
have alternative qualifications or experience acceptable to the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Sciences).
In considering an applicant's qualifications, regard will be had to the detail of the course of study followed to gain the qualification, as well as the applicant's performance in the programme.
IELTS (Academic) - Overall score of 6.5, no individual band below 6.0.
TOEFL iBT - Overall score of 90 and a writing score of 21.
