Toxicology focuses on studying harmful impacts of pharmaceuticals, environmental substances, and industrial compounds, investigating their mechanisms, and developing prevention or treatment strategies. The Master of Science (MSc) is a two-year program combining coursework with research. The initial year primarily involves academic studies and early research planning. Participants can engage with ongoing research projects or pioneer new areas of investigation. Bachelor's degree holders complete the MSc through coursework and a thesis (minimum two years full-time), while those with Honours or a postgraduate diploma may opt for thesis-only completion (minimum one year).
Students pursuing the degree via coursework and thesis typically undertake two to three years of full-time study, whereas thesis-only candidates complete one to two years. Any deviations from these timelines require approval from the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Sciences).
