The Master of Commerce (MCom) program fosters independent research capabilities. Building upon a solid foundation of coursework, students can either expand upon current research domains or pioneer new areas of study. The MCom offers flexible pathways, allowing completion through a mix of coursework and thesis, or solely through thesis work. Candidates holding a strong Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) typically undertake a two-year full-time program combining papers and thesis, beginning with 120 points of coursework leading to a Postgraduate Diploma in Commerce (PGDipCom). Those with an Honours degree or PGDipCom (or equivalent) may opt for a thesis-only route (minimum one year).
Economics represents a vibrant, ever-evolving discipline with real-world relevance. Economic analysis addresses critical issues like employment trends, development strategies, housing markets, wealth distribution, global commerce, ecological sustainability, and environmental policies. Whatever your professional ambitions, economic literacy proves indispensable. The study of Economics equips you with analytical tools to evaluate theories and form well-reasoned judgments.
