The Bachelor of Medical Science with Honours (BMedSc(Hons)) program is open to students who have successfully finished at least three years of coursework in the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB) program. While the majority of students pursue the BMedSc(Hons) following their third academic year, some opt to undertake it after completing their fifth year, before beginning their trainee internship. This qualification requires a dedicated year of full-time research in a medical science discipline (including thesis submission) and provides graduates with strong foundations for careers in research or academic medicine.
