The worldwide tourism sector actively looks for professionals with multilingual abilities and cross-cultural understanding. This degree combines the analytical and innovative qualities of Humanities graduates with the cultural adaptability unique to Language and Culture degrees.

Public sector opportunities mainly involve working with national and regional tourism bodies (such as Tourism New Zealand, Destination Queenstown, Tourism Auckland, China's National Tourism Administration, and Tourism Australia).
The private sector offers countless possibilities, ranging from small and medium tourism businesses in New Zealand (about 20,000 enterprises) to major local corporations like Air New Zealand, Tourism Holdings Ltd, Real Journeys, Auckland Airport Ltd, and Ngai Tahu Tourism, as well as international employers including Accor, Hilton Hotel Group, and China Travel Service.
