Gender represents a multifaceted aspect of social and cultural life that profoundly influences our life trajectories. It determines our professional pursuits and recreational choices, impacting not just our sense of self but also our earnings, familial bonds, social connections, personal values, dietary habits, fashion preferences, and even communication styles. Gender Studies examines classifications like "women," "men," "trans," or "non-binary," revealing how these concepts shape both our self-perception and how others view us.
In New Zealand's premier Gender Studies program, we'll challenge your assumptions. You'll encounter diverse viewpoints on familiar concepts while analyzing television, cinema, digital platforms, public discourse, visual media, alternative cultures, and style alongside academic texts.
Our faculty brings passionate energy to interactive teaching methods that engage learners directly in the educational process. We foster independent thinking while helping students connect scholarly concepts to their everyday realities.
The program consistently earns top marks for student contentment with their educational journey.
