Transportation engineering addresses all facets of mobility challenges, ranging from assessing future transit requirements for communities or nations to evaluating roadway construction materials. It encompasses every form of travel, including pedestrians and cyclists, automobiles and trucks, buses and trains, as well as maritime and air transport (though Canterbury's programs primarily focus on ground transportation).

Our Civil and Natural Resources Engineering Department partners with the University of Auckland's Civil and Environmental Engineering Department (Te Whare Wānanga o Tāmaki Makaurau) to provide postgraduate Transportation Engineering degrees.

Developed in collaboration with the land transport sector and engineering professionals, this program responds to the growing need for specialists with advanced transportation expertise.
Pursuing postgraduate studies offers numerous career advantages, such as specialized training, access to particular professions, improved salary prospects, research opportunities, and demonstration of academic excellence and dedication.
