Throughout the four-year Bachelor of Speech and Language Pathology with Honours (BSLP(Hons)) program, you'll develop expertise to support diverse individuals with communication and swallowing challenges. UC provides access to exceptional on-campus facilities, including specialized clinics and research centers.
The BSLP(Hons) is a prestigious, professionally accredited qualification recognized by Te Kāhui Kaiwhakatikatika Reo Kōrero o Aotearoa New Zealand Speech-language Therapists' Association (NZSTA).
Students gain practical experience working with clients across all age groups through campus-based clinics, national placements, and international opportunities.
Clinical placements constitute up to half of your academic workload, varying by study year.
Our campus features a dedicated speech pathology clinic, with additional placement options at hospitals, educational institutions, and healthcare facilities both locally and abroad.
The curriculum focuses on developing competencies in client evaluation, therapeutic program design, implementation, and outcome assessment.
Alumni pursue careers supporting children with developmental conditions, rehabilitating stroke patients, innovating communication technologies, establishing private practices, and other specialized roles within the field.
