This postgraduate certificate enables you to undertake specialized courses across various health science disciplines. You can opt for a general curriculum or focus on a specific field. Designed for healthcare practitioners, this program facilitates advanced specialization aligned with your chosen area of expertise. Please note: The University of Auckland does not participate in graduate recruitment and cannot assure professional registration or job opportunities in New Zealand or elsewhere. The PGCertHSc with a Mental Health Nursing specialization supports both newcomers to psychiatric care and seasoned mental health nurses. The curriculum includes foundational courses for early-career professionals as well as advanced training for those pursuing senior clinical positions and nurse practitioner qualifications.
You must have completed an undergraduate degree at a recognised university (or similar institution) in a health-related discipline such as health sciences, medicine, nursing, optometry, pharmacy, psychology, or social work. You must have current registration with the Nursing Council in New Zealand.
IELTS (Academic): Overall score of 6.5 with no bands less than 6.0; Internet-based TOEFL (iBT): Overall score of 90 and written score of 21; Paper-based TOEFL: Overall score of 68 and a writing score of 21; Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) or Cambridge English Proficiency (CPE): Overall score of 176 and no bands below 169; Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: Overall score of 58 and no PTE Communicative score below 50; Foundation Certificate in English for Academic Purposes (FCertEAP): Grade of B-; Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB): 85.
