The Master of Regional Development equips students to deeply analyze advanced academic theories and foundational concepts in regional development, emphasizing environmental, educational, and social policy alongside program design, implementation, and assessment.
This interdisciplinary MRegDev program leverages cross-faculty knowledge, connecting economic principles with scientific resource management, education systems, and community welfare initiatives.
Designed for both experienced professionals in regional and iwi policy within Aotearoa New Zealand or globally, as well as newcomers to the field, the program delivers cutting-edge scholarly insights and policy frameworks.

You must have either:
A one-year postgraduate qualification with at least a GPA of 5.0 from a recognised university (or similar institution) and have at least two years of relevant professional experience in regional development or equivalent, or a bachelors degree from a recognised university (or similar institution), and have passed 60 points towards the Postgraduate Certificate in Regional Development from the University of Auckland with at least a GPA of 5.0, provided that the postgraduate certificate has not been awarded.

IELTS (Academic): Overall score of 6.5 and no bands less than 6.0; Internet-based TOEFL (iBT): Overall score of 90 and written score of 21; Paper-based TOEFL: Overall score of 68 and a writing score of 21; Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) or Cambridge English Proficiency (CPE): Overall score of 176 and no bands below 169; Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: Overall score of 58 and no PTE Communicative score below 50; Foundation Certificate in English for Academic Purposes (FCertEAP): Grade of B-; Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB): 85.
