The MLitt serves as an alternative to a PhD for those holding a master's degree who wish to pursue a significant research endeavor. This program is available across most disciplines within the Faculty of Arts, pending approval and supervisory availability. You may choose to deepen your expertise in your current field or explore a completely new research area. The MLitt can enhance various academic or professional pathways, particularly for those not pursuing doctoral studies. Entry requires a BA(Hons) or PGDipArts in Development Studies or related fields like Anthropology, Asian Studies, Economics, Education, Geography, History, Māori Studies, Pacific Studies, Political Studies, or Sociology, with a minimum Grade Point Average of 5.0, or Director approval. Note that the research master's program has more stringent admission criteria.
