When you use digital maps for navigation or transit planning, you're interacting with Geographic Information Science (GIScience). Introduced in 2019, this field focuses on managing spatial data. Approximately 80% of collected information has geographic elements, from city names to exact GPS coordinates. Our curriculum covers processing satellite imagery, government datasets, and location-based social media to study various environmental and social phenomena.
