In Primary education, you have the option to enroll in either our English or Huarahi Māori programs. Our curriculum provides the essential skills for teaching in modern classrooms, where fostering meaningful connections, embracing diversity, and integrating digital tools are fundamental. Guided by principles of equity and social justice, the program is rooted in Te Tiriti o Waitangi values and dedicated to achieving fair educational outcomes. You'll study alongside a varied group of peers while developing foundational te reo Māori skills. Our faculty consists of education specialists who are enthusiastic about mentoring future educators. Instruction combines in-person lectures, tutorials, and workshops with online components. Throughout the three-year program, you'll complete full-time practicums at various schools or kura, supported by both mentor teachers and university advisors. These experiences will help you build professional networks, integrate into educational communities, and develop the competencies needed to launch your teaching career.
