The Postgraduate Diploma in Creative Practice empowers artists, designers, photographers, animators, educators, performers, directors, producers, and other innovative minds to elevate their professional paths within Unitec's Creative Industries ecosystem. During the initial semester, a mix of structured courses, self-directed projects, or studio work lets you customize your learning journey to align with your specific creative research focus—whether in conventional fields (graphic design, industrial design, photography, animation, visual arts, performance) or emerging interdisciplinary areas (service design, experience design, social innovation design, performance/production design, transmedia, cross-disciplinary work). The second semester focuses on developing, proposing, and executing high-level creative research under the guidance of academic advisors and/or industry experts. These creative initiatives can unfold either on campus or within a professional setting relevant to your field.
