Placement options include prestigious institutions like Auckland Zoo's New Zealand Centre for Conservation Medicine, specialized veterinary hospitals, and local clinics. Develop expert technical abilities through clinical rotations at partner clinics throughout New Zealand. Upon graduation, you'll qualify for both the New Zealand Certificate in Animal Technology (Veterinary Nursing) and the New Zealand Diploma in Veterinary Nursing, with eligibility for NZVNA registration after year two. Qualification Requirements

To be admitted to this programme all applicants must be at least 16 years of age on the date of
the programme's commencement for the semester in which they wish to enrol (or provide a
completed Early Release Exemption form), and meet the following requirements:
A minimum of 42 credits at NCEA Level 3 or higher on the National Qualifications Framework,
with 14 credits at Level 3 or higher in each of two science-related subjects, with a further 14
credits at Level 3 or higher taken from no more than two additional domains on the National
Qualifications Framework,
And
a minimum of 14 credits at Level 1 or higher in Mathematics or Pangarau on the National Qualifications Framework,
And
a minimum of 8 credits at Level 2 or higher in English or Te Reo Maori, a minimum of 4 credits
must be in Reading and a minimum of 4 credits must be in Writing,
Or
At least 3 C passes in the New Zealand University Bursaries Examinations in science or health
science related field, where appropriate or equivalent,
Or
Successful completion of an appropriate qualification at Level 3 or above in a science or health
science related field, where appropriate or equivalent,
Or
Equivalent.

If English is not your first language, you will also need at least one of the following qualifications:

An equivalent of IELTS (Academic) with minimum band scores of 6.0 with no band score lower than 5.5 or
University Entrance literacy: 10 Credits at NCEA Level 2 or above in English or Mori (5 in reading, 5 in writing)
