The Postgraduate Diploma in Science and Technology (Biological Sciences) serves as a gateway to advanced research degrees. Benefit from Massey University's state-of-the-art research infrastructure. This program provides a pathway for students aiming to pursue master's-level research, with access to specialized facilities including tissue culture labs, real-time PCR equipment, advanced fluorescence microscopes, and plate readers. The university's microscopy center offers confocal, scanning, transmission, and epifluorescence microscopy capabilities. Students also have convenient access to genome sequencing through both the Massey Sequencing Service and New Zealand Genome Limited's lab, located on the Manawat≈´ campus. These facilities feature ABI3730 and Illumina MiSeq technology with expert support. Additionally, the university provides comprehensive protein analysis equipment, including DIGE imaging systems and mass spectrometry access.
All students must meet university entrance requirements to be admitted to the University.
Specific requirements
To enter the Postgraduate Diploma in Science and Technology (Biological Science) you will have been awarded or qualified for:
a Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, with a major in the intended postgraduate subject, or equivalent, with a minimum B- average in the majoring 300-level courses, or
a postgraduate certificate that includes 30 credits of courses from the schedule to the Postgraduate Diploma in Science and Technology, or equivalent.
You will need to provide verified copies of all academic transcripts for studies taken at all universities other than Massey University.
