Acquire the expertise, competencies, and resources to facilitate a transition toward sustainable development through the lenses of environmental stewardship, effective governance, and institutional frameworks. The Master of Sustainable Development Goals (Economics for Sustainability) emphasizes both theoretical foundations and practical applications of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This program tackles humanity's most urgent challenge: achieving sustainability. The SDGs represent the UN's comprehensive blueprint for global progress and ecological balance, targeting critical issues such as poverty reduction, social equity, climate action, environmental protection, economic growth, and peaceful societies. All participants complete two foundational courses in sustainable development. The initial course provides an overview of sustainability theories and the SDGs, while the second explores interdisciplinary approaches. These courses also examine methodologies for tracking SDG progress and incorporate diverse perspectives, including alternative and indigenous knowledge systems within sustainability practices.
