This distinctive program is designed for creative individuals passionate about writing and performing arts, while also exploring how media influences identities and society. Combining media studies with expressive arts, this innovative dual major merges theoretical knowledge with hands-on creativity. As the only program of its kind in New Zealand, it was developed to meet student interests. You'll explore three artistic fields: theatre, creative writing, or digital media production. The media studies component examines media creation, audience engagement, content analysis, and their broader social, cultural, political, and economic impacts.
