The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) is a one-year postgraduate program focused solely on research. This degree allows students to enhance their research skills by specializing in a specific subject area, with guidance from AUT's distinguished faculty members. Serving as a stepping stone to doctoral studies, the program benefits from AUT's internationally renowned academic supervisors who possess deep expertise in their respective disciplines to support students throughout their research journey.
Must have completed one of the following with the equivalent of a B grade average or higher:
Four-year bachelor’s degree OR
Bachelor’s honours degree OR
Bachelor’s degree and a postgraduate diploma OR
Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of experience relevant to the proposed programme of research
An interview may be required for particular research areas.
English Language Requirements:
IELTS (Academic) 6.5 overall with a minimum score of 6.0 in each band; TOEFL iBT score of 90; Certificate in English for Academic Study (CertEAS) with A grade; AUT Academic English with B+ grade; CAE minimum overall score of 176; PTE minimum overall score of 58.
