This adaptable program equips you with practical business expertise and transferable skills for career success. You'll cultivate strategic thinking abilities while gaining specialized knowledge in your selected field. The first year builds essential commercial competencies across key areas like management, accounting, marketing, human resources, legal principles, economic theory, environmental sustainability, and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
During your second year, you'll select a specialization aligned with your career goals, with options to pursue a second focus area, take elective courses, or participate in an international exchange. The final year emphasizes advanced analytical and strategic capabilities through a cooperative education initiative. This includes hands-on work experience where you'll address real business challenges by applying your specialized knowledge.
The program offers exceptional flexibility, enabling part-time, full-time, or evening study options. You can combine two specializations without additional time or cost, or customize your degree with up to five elective courses (15 credits each, Level 5+) from any academic discipline.
University Entrance: NCEA Level 3 (60 credits at level 3 and 20 credits at level 2 or higher) which must include 14 credits at Level 3 in each of three approved* subjects and:
Literacy* - 10 credits at Level 2 or above, made up of 5 credits in reading, 5 credits in writing,
Numeracy* - 10 credits at Level 1 or above (specified achievement standards, or unit standards 26623, 26626, 26627)
OR New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 4) Ara Business and ICT Pathway or equivalent
* NZQA approved subjects
English language requirements:
IELTS test - Academic score of 6 with no band score lower than 5.5
SPEAKING – 5.5
READING - 5.5
WRITING - 5.5
LISTENING – 5.5
TOEFL (pBT) - Score of 550 (with an essay score of 5 TWE)
TOEFL (iBT) - Score of 60 or higher (with a writing score of 18)
Cambridge English Qualifications - B2 First, or B2 First for schools, or C1 Advanced, or C2 Proficiency with a score of 169. No less than 162 in each skill
PTE (Academic) score of 50 with no band score lower than 42
