The Bachelor of Education (BEd) TESOL programme is designed for individuals aspiring to teach English as a Second or Other Language (TESOL) at primary or secondary school levels. This comprehensive programme combines theoretical knowledge with practical experience, offering students the opportunity to spend up to one year in an international school. This immersive environment, guided by mentorship and supervision, allows students to refine their teaching skills and gain invaluable hands-on experience.
The curriculum equips students to effectively plan, deliver, and assess teaching content, while mastering classroom management techniques and TESOL methodologies. With a strong focus on practical teaching, the programme integrates school placements throughout, culminating in an assessed school experience in Malaysian or international schools during the final year.
Students also gain theoretical and practical insights into learning, curriculum design, pedagogy, and global education systems, developing advanced skills in classroom management and educational research to thrive in the dynamic field of education.
It is important to note that the BEd (Hons) in TESOL does not confer UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). However, it provides a robust foundation for teaching roles in regions where QTS is not required, paving the way for global opportunities in education.
